This is the most shameful, disgusting thing I’ve ever seen.
This is a doll from Mattel Inc. Monster High Dolls range. Her name is ‘Sinorita Skelita.’
Let’s just take a moment to think about this. Most young girls and some boys from ages as young as 2 or 3 to 12 or 13 grow up with and play with dolls such as Barbies or Bratz. Children are so easily influenced and these horrific dolls are being sold and advertised across the globe. I find it shocking that dolls such as ‘Sinorita Skelita’ and the other equally as thin dolls from the Monster High range are allowed to be sold.
This doll is glorifying and beautifying looking like a skeleton. The look of someone either dead or severally sick from an eating disorder.
Bellow the image are statistics from www.statisticbrain.com of eating disorders within children. Pretty scary stuff right? Everyone makes a big deal about trying to stop eating disorders, especially in children, and yet, ‘toys’ like these dolls are being sold everyday to little girls and boys who will grow up believing that, in order to be beautiful or sexy, they need to be impossibly and scarily thin.
I don’t know about you, but I’m NOT ok with that. Please reblog and spread the word about these awful Monster High dolls.
Something needs to be done about this.
yes, little children are going to believe that to be beautiful they have be an actual skeleton like skelita. next thing they’re going to start hating their skin colour because they want green skin like frankie or blue skin like abbey. or maybe they’ll want to sprout two more sets of arms like wydowna spider. i’m sorry but monster high is about love and respect and acceptance and being yourself. and it’s called MONSTER high, meaning the characters are, naturally, monsters with unreal skin colours and proportions. if you’re going to point at a skeleton doll as a cause for anorexia, you should probably be looking at real human beings who are photoshopped to high heaven in magazines and television, and the lack of fat-friendly advertising. monster high has a range of different body sizes.
